1. What's the difference between Personal Use and Commercial Use? What can I do with my art?
Personal Use means that the art is not used to make a profit or promote a business or product. Commercial Use means you profit from the art, directly or indirectly. This means: selling the art, using the art to promote your work or a product (such as a book), using the art on things like books, social media, advertisements, and to give to potential readers. Personal use looks like D&D art, OC's from RP groups, or a character you just really like and want to see drawn.
If you are an author and want to commission art of characters from your books, it is generally considered commercial by default unless the art is not used to promote the book or project in any way. In some circumstances, I am okay with ONE non-advertisement or promotional post to social media if you want to share the art under Personal Use rules. Personal use means for yourself. If it is to be used in any way other than a single share for fun, or for personal reference, it is considered commercial.
2.Do you draw NSFW?
No, I do not draw blatant NSFW work. However, light to moderate blood, violence, and artistic/nonsexual nudity are fine.
3. Why don't you typically accept commercial work for Dark Romance, Erotica, or High/Heavy Spice and Smut-focused projects?
I never want to shame anyone for the content they enjoy, especially since the book and art world is full of amazing, creative people with fantastic ideas and projects. I strive to be someone who supports the sex-positive movement and those who find confidence and strength in it. I also strive to be a safe space for the queer experience, as someone who is a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. However, due to conversations surrounding consent, wildly varying spice preferences and limits, issues with literary depictions of abuse in intimate relationships and unhealthy sexual dynamics, and a boundary for both personal and professional reasons, I have made the decision to (for now) limit the work I do with these genres and content types. I appreciate the respect for the boundary and your understanding! I know many, many amazing artists who would happily accept work for Dark Romance, Erotica, or Smut-focused/Heavy Spice series, and I am more than happy to make recommendations from a selection of my peers. You are still free to inquire about your project, as it is my discretion to accept or decline projects under these genres or themes. Click HERE for spice rating information and my rating scale.
4. I don't see the type of project I want to commission from you. Can I ask for something you don't have listed?
Yes! If there is a project or artwork you wish to get and it is not an option listed, please feel free to inquire.
5. Is AI used in your art? Can I use AI with the art?
I do not permit the use of AI (such as generative AI like stable diffusion, generative fill, or generative expand). If you are providing references and many or most are AI, I will request that you find references that are not AI. I do not give permission for AI to be used in or on the art once the project files are handed over. Please DO NOT generate AI images for references to use for your commission. I will not use them.
6. Do you have any policies regarding LGBTQIA+, disability, or racism & prejudice?
I will NOT work on content or series that are: Intentionally Homophobic/anti-LGBTQIA+, racist/racially prejudiced, sexist, or ableist/anti-disability inclusive. I am a queer, disabled, neurodivergent individual who takes this stance very seriously.
7. Can I commission you for commercial work with a copyrighted character that I don't own?
This is entirely dependent on permission by the rightful owner. I would request that you seek permission for commissions; otherwise, I will not permit commercial commissions for copyrighted characters that are not your own.
7. I can't pay my project in full right away. Are there payment plans?
In some situations, I may permit the use of a payment plan or installments. However, this may delay the completion of your commission.
